We’ll meet on Sparks Street at Kent to stroll down Sparks Street, checking out busker street performances, and make our way to the NAC on Elgin to hang out and talk about effective altruism things.
I’ll wear a GiveWell shirt so you can find me - I’ll be on the East side of Kent, towards the Buskerfest and Elgin Street.
About Buskerfest: https://ottawabuskerfestival.com/
I’m not sure how long we’ll spend with the street performers; it depends on how motivated people are to stay and watch the acts. I’d guess we can easily spend an hour or more on Sparks.
For our hangout, a default topic proposal will be this EA Forum post "Nailing the basics – Theories of change" on nailing the basics of effective non-profit work - something we shouldn’t forget about: https://forum.effectivealtruism.org/.../nailing-the...
The post can also be listened to on the forum or on the Nonlinear Library podcast https://pod.link/.../epi.../b5cd5df41a17f837ef1628802cbd6c57
Please also feel free to bring whatever effective altruism related topics/questions you want to bring to the group.
If you’re reading this, you’re invited to join us. Don’t worry if you haven’t attended a meetup before or aren’t sure what this effective altruism thing is all about; you are welcome.
